MTN Ghana has donated assorted baby products to babies delivered on Christmas and Boxing Day to share in the joy of the mother’s during the festive season.

The annual event saw babies gifted with baby oil, baby diapers, wipes, soaps, towel, wrappers, toys, antiseptic among others.

In all, 19 babies at four hospitals – Pentecost Hospital, Madina Polyclinic Kekele, Madina Polyclinic Rawlings Circle and Legon Hospital – benefited from the package.

Mrs Jemima Kotei Walsh, the Chief Customer Relations Officer, MTN, handing over the hampers, said the gesture was one of the many ways MTN Ghana Foundation had catered for the health needs of several individuals and medical institutions across Ghana.

She said this year, a total of 500 baby hampers at a cost of GHC 150,000 were being distributed simultaneously in all 16 regions of Ghana.

The distribution of baby hampers, which was initiated in 2011, has so far seen the distribution of over 2,000 hampers to babies born on Christmas and Boxing Day.

Mrs Walsh said, “The Project started with few regions, however, by 2020 all the then 10 regions have been included. Today we are in all 16 regions distributing hampers”.

“We see the occasion as a season of giving and also showing love in the midst of Covid-19. MTN counts it very important to still reach out to our dear mothers and lovely babies born on Christmas Day to show them the MTN kind of love,” she added.

The Chief Customer Relations Officer, congratulated the mothers and wished customers and stakeholders Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

The beneficiary mothers were thankful to the Telecommunication Company for the kind gesture.

The Chief Customer Relations Officer was accompanied by other staff of the Telecommunication Network.
